Don't buy a Shadow Trailer in Ocala Florida

The Mad Blogger wouldn't recommend buying a Shadow Trailer for Shadow Trailers in Ocala Florida or from the Ocala Trailer Company.

If you've had a bad experience with Shadow Trailers, this is your post, give TMB some love.

Here's the original post as to why not to buy a Shadow Trailer!

Larry is truly a "Slick talking horse trader/used car salesman" without truth or honor. He has avoided paying me the advertised $1600 dollar rebate through lies and stalling techniques. I read your blog and listened to others of their experience with him and thought I had my bases covered on a simple deal involving a trade in. Needless to say, Slick salesman Larry didn't pay up. "I'm a man of my word" he says. NOT !!!!! This is a shame since he has a good product at a fair price (well almost). I had to replace gas lines that were pinched to the stove, have the factory repair shorted brake wiring before I could take it home, replace a broken trailer tie, but in all fairness, these were the fault of the LQ conversion Co. His reputation is going to be spread far and wide at all the events we go to. Shadow "Stinks" will be going on my trailer for all to see. Not because of the trailer quality, but because of the owner, Larry.

I work at the factory were they are built. We build a quality trailer at a resonble price and we do repairs. Don't hesitate to bring it to their attention. I relize u feel shorted by $1600 dollars and in the other forrum u claimed he said he would extend it for u. People always want something for nothing. You should have got it writing. He is a busy man at a young company. He is running a company and is a salesman. He may not remember offering you such a deal if even he did. That is why you must get things in writing. Don't let these select situatuations sway you from missing out on a quality product for a reasonble price.

After picking up the brand new Shadow Trailer from the dealer in Ocala Florida TMB had to head to the factory to put items on that had been ordered, but not installed. Four hours after leaving the factory in Ocala Florida TMB had problems with the Shadow Trailer yet again.

The Mad Blogger immediately called Shadow, told them about the problem and they said they would send out the parts to fix the problem. A month later the parts hadn't been shipped, and repeated phone calls had been made. Finally the parts were shipped, and then a few days later a bill for the shipping of those parts was also sent out. What kind of customer service is that? That is terrible customer service.

Stay away from Shadow Trailers, faulty customer service will kill a business every time.

I ordered a Silver Star in sept 06 and the company has stopped production but kept telling me they were waiting on parts? They finnaly said they changed hands around the 1st of the year and were waiting on financing? The guy that owns it was not very nice about it. He said I dont get paid until the trailers done so I could wait or go somewhere else it didnt matter? that was March 07.. My dealer "Dennys trailer sales" in Minnesota has taken on Shadow. They have been great so far.. They said they would have my 2 horse 8.5 sw with a 6' slide made in 30 days and it was it is now at the LSR to put the LQ in. I met Blake that is a rep from Shadow and he was over and above helpful. I will post again when I get my trailer and let you know the real deal..So far Shadow has been A+ Sorry for your bad luck but it sounds like they took care of you, just not on your time line. This was received in an email earlier today to TheMadBlogger "tried to post and it would not take it. I am pasting below if you can put this up for me. Larry Truitt and Lou with LER conversions are both crooks. I bought a trailer from Shadow and from the first day the toilet has leaked among leaks at the kitchen sink and shower. Lou and Larry assured me that it would be fixed. Lou tried one time to fix the problem and it still leaked. At that time, they washed their hands of me. Shortly after, Lou's company closed shop and I now see that he has changed names and is doing business under a new company name. I tried to take Larry to small claims court but he would not even answer his certified mail. It was not worth the expense or time being in a different county than Marion county. After numerous phone calls, faxes and emails, Larry would not honor his warranty. I ended up having to pay over a $1000 out of pocket to have the toilet fixed. By that time, the bathroom floor was rotten and had to be replaced. Further, the hood and light support under the microwave and overhead cabinets has fallen down so many times, I had to take it out. Further, my trailer is only 3 years old the the rear tack collapsed into the 3rd horse stall. If a horse would have been in the trailer it would have killed or seriously injured it. The welds completely broke loose and the rear tack fell in. This is dangerous and should have never happened. This has not been the first weld or bolt that has broken. Larry is a liar, crook and fraud. I am thankful that someone finally started a website to share their experience. I wonder if the people who are perfectly happy ever use their trailer and if it they have a living quarters."

I bought a 2006 model Shadow Trailer with LQ, 2 horse slant. I camp on a regular basis and just love it! I also bought 2 honda generators and when I camp I don't bother the other campers with the noise of the generators. JBL the conversion people out of Georgia have been more than helpful since the first time I bought the trailer. Any questions I had or even now if I have a problem, I can call them 24/7 and they are Johnny on the spot! I agree that Larry is an aggressive salesman, but he does sell a great product!

Lary is a slick operator I bought a Silver Star 4hosre trailer from him in 2002 the price was right but he left off so many details. walk thru door, and wrong color pin stripping and canopy and the htg strip for the roof a/c. and the biggest thing I bought it from out of state and he told me I would not have to pay sales tax but the state of Georgia will surly catch up with you on that one more out of pocket expense. Other than That he delivered it on time so dont just blame the trailer company's Silver Star was just as helpful as they could be.

I have been a RV dealer, cargo trailer dealer and horse trailer dealers for several years, (born into the buisness) we sell other horse trailers but i have never seen a better built trailer for the dollar than a Shadow trailer! They may have had a bad start but now they have there stuff together, the big dogs need to watch out! Shadow is going to lay the smack down. They work close with there dealers and listen to what customers want, I bet you see other Manufactures try to copy there slide outs or copy there bi fold gate. Infact I bet you see the Bi fold stall divider copied by the end of the year!

I know this is about Shadow trailers, but right down the road at Coast to Coast they misrepresented thier trailer prices and I drove over an hour away with my trade horse trailer in tow, only to find out they didn't have any trailers at the prices I had IN WRITING while talking via e-mail with the sales manager. Than he had the nerve to get 2 inches from my face screaming at me that he is not a liar when I was merely asking where the deal is that he told me about. I later called the owner and all she had to say was "well you are obviously not going to buy a trailer from us, so I don't know what to do". She did not care how the sales manager treated me. This encounter was so bad that it involved a police report and a complaint to the BBB. This was recent and I will make sure people know to watch out for Bob the Sales Manager.

Bought 3H slant Shadow from Ocala trailer Sales in '06. Never had bracket to move rear tack to front drsg rm. Called Ocala last week asking about brackets. Got some static from new owner Mike. Told to call Larry at factory. Also spoke with Mike in service. Mike in service contacted factory, got parts in, set-up repair appt. When we went to Ocala for the service, EVERYONE was as friendly and helpful as possible. Would recommend Shadow. There was no charge for brackets, installation or changing blown fuse in my Truck to make interior lights work. We also had them change the windows on the butt side of trailer to drop-downs for better air flow. They gave a fair price and threw in 3 fans, mounted, for good measure. Thanks Shadow Trailers.
